water change questions

i have 250L TANK with an fluval 304

fish in tank

6 yellows

6 ob peacocks

6 julies

6 maleri red peacocks

8 demasoni

1 bristlenose

all fish are small 3-4cm

i do know they get big but when they do i will swap em out for small ones again

but my question is how often should i be doing an water change and how much im doing weekly at about an 3rd of the tank just wondering if im under doing or overdoing etc

Yep, sounds about right to me, too. If the fish are small and you're not overfeeding, you can probably get away with a slightly lower rate of water changing, but you're better to be safe than sorry! Also as they grow bigger you will need to change more so it's best to get into good habits.

I change 25% of my water every week in my 250litre tank. 20% every week with my 600 litre tank.....I do run quite big filters though. I test my water every month as it always remains pretty consistent. My son only changes 25% every 2 weeks in his 60 litre tank....and he never has any fish losses. You do have quite alot of fish in your tank though.
