WEKA
I am growing on some brine shrimp as a little project in a 50L tank and have installed a canister filter. It has been running for a few weeks without much change in ammonia or nitrite levels. I have been turning the filter off for periods of an hour or two once a day for feeding. How long can the filter be turned off before it starts having an effect on the bacteria. Will this delay the "cycle" starting. Appreciate any comments on this. If you're constantly killing off a percentage of the bacteria, of course it's going to delay the cycle.
