chaat
I had two of these given to me recently. They are both around the 9-10 cm mark. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed quite a few fish disappearing in the tank, and I blamed the ctenopoma ( that's one huge mouth), but today as I walked past I noticed one of the cats is enormous. he/she looks like he is lying on a beachball. I did think the cardinals were probably not going to make it, but I've lost tetras, swords, and small corys as well. I had no idea these guys had mouths big enough to try. think I might have to put this fella on a diet. Anyone have any experience/ tips with these fish ? Caper
Taken from "The Age of Aquariums" website: [Other than that, there are few caveats, the only other one being 'do not place this fish with other fish that are small enough to fit in its mouth', as you may find your neons or whatever being quietly swallowed in the night. /quote] Just happened upon this when I was checking to see if it was the Raphael catfish you were refering to!! Tsarmina
Is this your fish? it is quite possibly the culprit as caper said above
chaat
Yeah, that's the culprit. It's only one of the two .. the other one looks normal, but this guy is obscenely fat now. I did read up and thought my fish would be fine (apart from a couple of cardinals I couldn't catch) The others were way to big .. or so I thought.
