craigd
Flourite is a excellent substarte for plants....though pricey. Check out Hollywood Fish Farm as they stock it. You can read all the tech info here http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/Flourite.html If you are growing lots of plant you will probably want to have a co2 setup and adequate lighting. Plenty of good info on this site also the likes of http://www.cau-aqua.net/index.php?lang=en http://www.aquatic-eden.com/ http://www.plantedtank.net/articles.php Hope this helps. alanmin4304
You can set up a "normal aquarium" or if you add strong light, CO2, added fertilizers you will need all three. There is no point in using only one or two of the three. There are a number of suitable substrates out there to provide micronutrients to your plants and I have not used frourite so can't advise there. I prefer to use sand rather than gravel and have done for many years. It is all a matter of personal preference realy.
