Sharkie
absolutley i have used plenty of drift wood that i have collected from different beaches and never had any probs other than trying to get it to sink which can take some time depending on the wood.just make sure its had a good soak also just before i would put it in my tank i would poor some boiling water over it just incase there were any unwanted bugs etc on it. Romeo
Should be fine, but the biggest problem is making it sink! I find that hot water for 5 mins, then cold water for 5 mins, then rinse and repeat. Usually that gets it sinking in a few days depending on what sort of wood it is. If it's from the beach, and it's light, expect to spend quite a while soaking it! Or you can just get a piece of rock with some silicone on it, or tie it to a rock, lean a rock on it or suction cup it to the bottom of the tank.
