soky5 Posted February 28, 2009 Report Share Posted February 28, 2009 i no i have a few topic kinda on the same thing but i just went in to feed my fish and when i went to the last tank with my breeding mollys one of the felmales have died now i need someones help she is in there with a male and have been togeter since the 15th feb i dont want her to die can i take the male out and just leave the felmale buy her self antill she drops or dose the male have to stay in there with her and if i can take the male out can i put a felmale fighter in with her please help me and why do you think the outher molly died? Female fighter may eat the babies if you stick her in there, you might be able to put the fighter in a guppy trap or something like that so she cant get them. Without knowing any of the symptoms or further details (tank size, tank mates, water tests, maintenance etc) then its hard to even guess why your fish died. caserole Posted March 2, 2009 Report Share Posted March 2, 2009 Apparently some wholesalers have their Mollies in salt water as they do better in it. So when a shop buys it as a fresh water fish and chucks it in a fresh water tank and some unsuspecting customer buys it and does the same the poor fish is stressing out big time. Whether or not you should take the male out depends on how big your tank is and whether you have places for the girl to hang out. Your water parameters would really help us out.
