joliet
Does he have internal parasites? I remember reading somewhere that the rubbing meant they had parasites. Nothing wrong with him on the outside, eating well and not hassling other fish. Only just noticed the behaviour tonight as well. Water parameters are fine. lmsmith
If he's just doing it occasionally, he's probably just got an itch. If he's doing it often, he might have fluke worms. Do a search on how to treat them.
joliet
Hmm, doesn't look like he has any worms on him (it says it looks like whitespot) so maybe it's just an itch.
alanmin4304
If it is flicking off objects it is usually an external parasite anoying them (whitespot, velvet, skin flukes) look for signs of these. Best way is in the dark with a torch.

Best way is in the dark with a torch. It's not a quick flick, it's a full on swim against, for a second or so. I'll have a check for external parasites tonight
