Guppy changed blue to orange.

I got new guppys as a pure strain but 1 male changed from blue to orange, he is the only male in the tank so will all the fry be like him because it looks quite good?. It is the same shape and pattern as the blue tuxedo but has orange tail. But would people not want them because there not the actual pure strain?

Were your guppy frys blonde? is that why you call them orange?

Actually the Blue Neon and the Red Tuxedo guppy strain has similar genetics except that the red or orange tuxedo has complete red-fin genes, when a guppy only has one half of the red-fin gene (either the gene for the tail or dorsal fin), it turns blue.

It is not unusual for Blue Neons to have Red-tuxedo offspring and vice versa. So your guppys might still be pure strain.

Thanks , I have no fry from them yet as got them small not to long ago so only have 1 half blue half orange male with a greenish head, So it could turn back blue? its fin at the back is orange with blue at tip and blue top fin, it isnt full grown yet.

No it will not turn back to blue, the orange that you see will intensify into a red and cover up the whole fin, the dorsal (top) fin might stay blue. if you want blues, do not use the ones with red in their fins for breeding.
