phoenix44
hey everyone! one of my friends came over with a canon 400D DSLR camera, so i thought id take some pics of a few fish and post them on here, for everyone to see. I love apistos so there are some nice pics... although i was the one taking the photographs, and im not very good at using the camera with all its million settings and lenses etc.

lf
Wow :bounce: :bounce: , fantastic photos, is the third one in the top group a male and female??? What are the distinguishing differences between male/female. I have 4 in my tank- all juviniles and new to tank - and one seems quite dominant. Has taken over the whole front of the tank. Have created a wall of plants to try to make distinct division today, and so far so good. Will have to watch and wait  . Love the steel blues , how common are they, and are they in a community tank with the bolivians??
phoenix44
thank you for your kind words =) that pic shows a male bolivian ram with long, flowing fins, and a female with short stubby fins.... although females can get longer fins, it is less common, and they are plainer than the males. The steel blues are in the same tank as the Bolivians, and a heap of other fish - and yes the steel blues are relatively common now in shops and are among the easiest to order in because of the sudden interest by hobbyists. phoenix44
really? that's weird... the dominant male usually goes that colour, and if another male is in the same tank, it normally fades a little - but definitely has a blue body too. V weird. post a pic of yours if you can source a cam.
Dixon1990
Will try find a camera, one was bought from animates as borelli, and the other 2 were bred from 'BK'(not burgerking) as borelli.
