znt26
If I get a female fighter and at a later point get a male fighter will that be ok? They would be going in with 2 female mollies, 1 sailfin male molly & 8 danios.
Ashzbetta
getting a female should be alright but not a male -males and females shouldnt be kept together and only be together for a short time while breeding -if you plan to get more than one female you will need 4-5 females to spread out aggression
znt26
so I can't put a male in my tank?
Guest
You can. I've kept males and females together and they've been fine. Sometimes eith the male or the female is aggressive though and one or both will get fin damage.
Adrienne
You can. If you have plants in the tank it will be better. The reason for this is that the male will spend quite a bit of the time harassing the female but it there are hiding spaces or if the tank is big enough she will be able to get out of the way. They can and will breed in a community tank however the fry will not survive. They can and sometimes will breed every 3 days which is why the female needs to have some 'space' of her own. Otherwise get a couple of females.
