Guest Posted November 1, 2008 Report Share Posted November 1, 2008 My baby fighter tank seems like it's got a fungus going around in it. They get white patches on there body and the their fins clamp up and look like they get all shredded and then they die. The platyys in the tank look fine it's only tyhe fighters. What can I do? Fungus is usually secondary, go to your LPS dose the crap out of your tank and do daily water changes. lmsmith Posted November 1, 2008 Report Share Posted November 1, 2008 You need to figure out what caused the fungus. Could be a wound or bacterial infection. If bacterial, treat with an antibiotic to fix the infection, and an antifungal to treat the fungus. If it's a wound, I'd say salt, and antifungal. I've got a breeder trap in there and the fish go between the glass and the trap and just sit there untily they get white patches then their fins clamp up and they die.
