imsweet
a couple of pics of the top stem of the sword plant i have. the sword: the start of the stem: progress: not too sure how / where to break it off, or if i do? no flowers yet, the buds just seem to be leaves and a new one opens every 2-3 days. roots are growing fast tho. alanmin4304
The little stems with the wee round blob on the end are the flowers which would open if out of the water. Leave the plantlets until a little bigger (like twice as big) then bend them gently back towards the mother plant, and if ready they will come away as seperate plants. If you don't cut the runner off you may give some of the smaller (not as advanced) plants a chance to mature as well. You need to cut off about 1/3 of the roots and plant them out. Most sword plants when transplanted regrow the roots and the old ones die off.

And do i need to hold it down? What happens if i snap it?
