lmsmith
I'd like to get a breeding cone for my angels, but I haven't seen any in Wellington. I guess I could use an upturned pot, but does anyone have any other ideas to make some sort of almost up and down surface for fishes to lay on? mr pleco
for angels they will breed on almost any surface even glass/filter intake hoses / and even heaters best ive had is in community tank with amazon sword leaves as i can snap the leaf and remove the eggs but slate at 75 degrees against the glass /upturned terracotta pots /etc work fine ,if in good condition and right enviroment they will breed
lmsmith
Yeah, my guys tend to breed on the filter intake, and I'm worried that all the babies are going to get sucked up. I might try the slate, thanks!
TM
Just try a few things, bits of pvc pipe, bricks, pots, slate, smooth tiles etc.
alanmin4304
Pots are good for discus but angels like to spawn near the surface. I used a 100 x 100mm square of slate with stainless steel hooks hanging at the surface and hatched the eggs in a 150 x 150mm tank with an airstone. If you feed them well and take the eggs out they will spawn every couple of weeks.
