I am totally new to bearded dragons, and get my little guy in a few weeks. Is it okay to have his enlosure beside my fish tank, and is it okay to have it by a window. I would not be opening the window at all. I would appreciate any advice, esp if you think this would be a bad idea so i know  .

Thanks.

Thanks, it wasnt actually the sun i was worried about it was the exact opposite, as it doesnt get much sunshine as its blocked by the garage, i was more concerned if a draft would get in somehow, i am going to put foamseal on the windows first. But would the equipment that they have in there enclosure, ie heat lamp etc which i am slowly learning about, keep them from catching any chill in the air.

I wouldn`t worry too much.Mine spent the whole weekend outside in the fenced backyard. They can take gradual variations in temperatures and I think they should be given these, lets face it they come from desert locations where it gets pretty cool at night to searing heat during the day. They are only active when conditions suit them and seek refuge from extremes.Yours will no doubt be a youngster so make sure he can get away from too much heat, sun through a window even for a short time could be disasterous!
