fishandchips
Hey everybody, Has anyone used the tax refund website, www.taxrefunds.co.nz, before. I keep seeing the advert but am a bit worried to do it cos it could be a scam. I see it advertised in alot of legit places but still a bit suspicious. David R
Never used them, just do it on the IRD website instead. Go here; https://www.ird.govt.nz/cgi-bin/form.cgi?form=incrates Choose individual person (for most) The bottom year as above put in your gross earnings before tax The end result will show roughly how much you should have been taxed, check this against your tax on the earnings record. If its within a few dollars its not worth worrying about, a few hundred or more and its worthwhile.
Dracoz
For salary/wage earners only: 1) Request a summary of earning for the year you are looking at, 2) Quick calculation by using the IRD wedsite calculator, 3) If the result is a refund then request a Personal tax summary, 4) Once you have received your personal Tax summary, give IRD a ring and they should be able to sort out the refund for you on the phone. Do not request a "personal tax summary" if you don't need file a return, by requesting a personal tax summary , IRD will expect you file a return.
