Sid
Hi all, please excuse first post nerves! I have a Pleco in my fish tank that I bought as a Dwarf Clown a few years ago. I have been trying to find some information about it on the web and the closest I get is a Clown Pleco, on Planet Catfish, either an L206 or L104, going by the photo's. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/sp ... ies_id=734 http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/sp ... es_id=1510 However the site states a size of 1000mm long and mine has stopped growing at approx 50mm. The fish, Coco, has always been in a small tank and so may have affected his\her size too. Any info/help about this fish would be useful. Thanks. ps: will see if I can get a photo Coco this week too. flatfish
Hi Sid, its most likely to be a clown pleco, Panaque maccus, as this species is small and fairly readily available. I guess you could say its a dwarf species compared to some of the larger more common plecos such as redspots or goldspots. Not sure why it hasn't grown much as it wouldn't need a very big tank anyway. I assume you've had some bogwood in the tank for it to graze on as all Panaques need it in their diet. Although apparently some of the pleco wafers contain it.
Sid
Thanks for the reply, there is plenty of bogwood in the tank, so no problems there. I do not know what to do with the tank as fish stocks have dwindled over time, will post another thread asking for advice on ideas I think.
