Adrienne
Give it a break for a few and i do mean a few weeks and try again. It sounds from the description of the female that she is stressed and stressed fish don't breed. Leave them alone and don 't fiddle around shifting things and the fish. Not all fighter pairs are compatible anyway. I've been breeding them for three years and this year have only managed to get 4 successful spawns. Read up on the internet sites while you're giving the fish a break. The information is pretty similar and works (or it did for me) when I started out.
