Well the name would sound a bit menancing to non fish keeping people.

i wanna know why they thought the fish had to be put down?

could they not have been taken to a quarentee facility?

Do you think they would handle the situation the same if it was Pandas that were being smuggled in?

Probably because Pandas are endangered....

There are many animal/reptile that have been imported into the country over the many years that have been euthanased.... so the case of the fighters is no different.

The lesson here is clear.

When illegally importing fish, use lead fish bags.

Because, basically, anything that's illegally imported has to be either destroyed or sent back out of the country. They might bother trying to find an option for pandas, but siamese fighters aren't real animals, they're little slimy high maintenance ornaments.

lol and with their highly aggressive tendancies they probably wont find many supporters willing to pay for their quarantine etc

They may have been worried that if the "Fighters" escaped it could be the end of our trout population (after all they were here first.......right?)
