I wonder if anyone here can tell what this might be....I've just noticed on the tail fin of one of my comet a cluster of 3 to 4 tiny little blisters...looks like eggs with a red dot in one or two of them....couldn't be eggs could they? otherwise the fish looks and swims fine ......it is happy as Larry but for this growth??

I've decided it is fin rot and have gone about treating it with somethinng I got from the pet shop.....it's blue so I think it contains Methelene blue...which was mentioned in another thread....

Give it a salt bath too NPnewbie, and put the m/blue on neat to the spot

never BUY SALT AT A PET SHOP

uNLESS OF COURSE YOU ARE IN A DIFFERENT WAGE BRACKET THAN ME.

iT USE TO BE SAID THAT non-IODISED SALT SHOULD BE USED, BUT NOW THE THINKING IS THAT IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER.

tHE CHEAPEST PLACE TO GET SALT imho, IS AT A FARM SUPPLIERS.

Like Farmlands or Wrightsons.

I got a heap of it, still got some, I bought Rock-salt that is heavy granulated stuff.

Remember to dissolve the salt first b4 putting fish into the water tho.

Sorry about the Caps, aren't going to change it tho.
