HelenMac
I had a marine tank with black blackboard paint on the back I'm turning it into a malawi cichlid tank. How do I get the black paint off the back. I've tried scraping it with a paint scraper but not working very well. Any ideas. Can't move the tank as its 4x2x2 12ml glass and full of water and shist. ryanjury
lol leave the black on it looks good.. Apart from that the only other thing I can think of is to empty the tank, cover the top and use paint stripper.. You would have to research this because I don't know what paint strippers are safe to use on glass if any at all.. Good luck I am taking the blue off the back of my 5 x 2 x 2 when its empty so let me know what works I was planning to go down the track above but hadn't got far enough as to find out what was safe.. ryanjury
I would be worried about scratching the crap out of the glass when using a paint scraper?
northland chic
Yea we used a paint scraper to do our 7ft worked well, just be careful not to push too hard and take your time.

Tiden
Perhaps you could use some meths on a rag to soften a bit of the paint as you scrap assuming the paint is acrylic if not use turps. Just make sure when you have finished with the rag(if useing turps) lie it flat somewhere to dry out.
smidey
use a razor blade but bend up the outside ends of the blade so the ends cannot scratch the glass. use thinners to get any left overs off.
Ant N
Use single sided razor blades, They are cheap. Replace often., and if you keep surface wet it shouldn't scratch. "Blackboard" paint will not grip onto glass very well, It maybe PA10 type of product which will be harder to remove, but elbow grease will work wonders. Good luck. (good job while you watch/listen to the rugby tonight! LOL)
