Paradise fish outside

After months of umming i have decided to get some paradise fish for the tub outside. Well to see how they go out there anyway. Probably not the best time to get them but they have been bred and raised in a cold water tank (18 deg) so the move wont be too much different. I picked them up at lunchtime today and was surprised to find 6 (ordered 4) But sweet as, I rang to thank them. Sat the bag in the pond, in-between the rain i shot out to tip them in and had another wee looksie. They had coloured up since floating in there and there were 5 real nice blue and 1 quite a bit duller. Theyre only 4cm max so i thought it's too early to tell boy/girl. Maybe not. ?? Only seen them once before in Ryans fish room. But i love gouramis ... and cant or Shouldn't fit any more in the community tank and these guys (or girls) look so close to them, so what the hey. You sometimes just gotta have. :D Plus i brought about 20 plants so the comm tank is looking full.

I Love paradise fish! :bounce:

My one is only about 3cm-ish and hes a boy, he's getting quite long fins and a fantastic blue with bright orange stripes.

Can't wait to he's bigger as hes much nicer than the full grown ones in my LFS already.

All the best with them outside :D

Thanks, looked in on them last night once the rain had ceased and theyre more curious than the goldfish that are in there. Will see how it goes, was thinking about getting a plastic or perspex sheet to cover the top just to help with the bad weather.

Is the pond very big? much room for the goldfish to hide if need be?

Keep in mind that Paradise Fish ARE very agressive.

My one is alil bit, but not to the point where he's damaging the other fish.

So just keep an eye on them would be my only advice :bounce:

Hope that helps
