Adrienne
Has anyone had the above together in the tank. Any problems, or suggestions. Still looking for some tankmates for my 6 discus. Keen on cardinals but wondering if they would get eaten.
jolliolli
not sure on the bolivians, have had blue rams with discus and they have been fine, have also had a mix of 20 neons and cardinals with my discus (all adults) and none of them have been a snack. Adrienne
did you add them at the same time as the discus or later? I have heard that if they are added later they make a great dinner dish.
jolliolli
rams were added later, neons and cardinals i think were added around the same time as the discus, you could always try a few neons as 'testers' at least if one of your discus takes a liking to them its a bit cheaper than a cardinal snack. Discusguru
Don't worry, the cardinal will be fine. Too fast for the discus . ron

Adrienne
are you talking blue rams or bolivian rams and what are the pencilfish like in the tank with the discus. My discus are lovely in the tank but its a bit empty looking at the moment.
Discusguru
Put a hundred cardinals and 100 rummynoses in and I guaranty it won't look empty lol
Adrienne
Thanks Ron I'm made of the hard stuff am I probably 30-40 cardinals and was thinking maybe some rummynose as well. Don't want to take the focus off the discus though so will have to be a fine balance.
Discusguru
That small number will get lost in the big tank.
