Naz_Nomad
Consider a six foot tank or so with a couple of young Oscars in it... Would Keyhole Cichlids or Angelfish survive in there with the Oscars? What non-aggresive fish ARE suitable tank-mates for Oscars?
ryanjury
Id say that angels or keyholes would be food for an oscar they get big and have big mouths and appetites..
SparkyNat
i have 2 angels in with my 2 35cm and 2 10cm oscars and i can still see them swimming around and have been for months
David R
Could be alright with young oscars, but not long-term. I'd say any semi-aggressive cichlids could make good tank mates, larger catfish, dats, large barbs, silver dollars etc. Anything big enough to avoid being eaten, bold enough to compete for food, and not completely wimpy (or exceptionally aggressive). SparkyNat
Ive found oscars are not as bad as most people say, mine have been in with jags, silver dollars, fire eel, tin foil barbs, gouramis, electric yellows, convicts, other smallish cichlids, plecs and syno's and they have never fought with anyone else (apart from the syno when it came close to eggs). Its just a matter of making sure everyone has a chance to get food as they are greedy. But we feed the fire eel by hand with 4 oscars in the tank and it def does not go hungry.
