HaNs
Hi All Yes HaNs, I HAVE BEEN TO CHINA  Several times on Aquaria product buying missions. And as I stated you can buy the same IDENTICAL item retail in chinese shops at less than 10% of the quoted US$ price for export. I did the calculations while I was there to bring in a few tanks but it was uneconomic even buying them retail, so I left it to the big boys (WHO supposedly can afford to import bulky items and also to stand by their choice of product). If you find my comments offensive HaNs then I suggest you talk to a few more small business owner operators who have dealt with the same people and then I will accept your apology for going off half cocked. I did not anywhere mention any specific make or "Brand Name", you decided I also meant your "ELCHEAPO". I deal with "these people" most days of the week is small/medium business for more than one company/brand. Sad that you didnt have a good experience out of it and may have hit a group/s that was trying to charge more than retail price's Yes it is uneconomic to bring in a few tanks, helps keep some of the quick buck makers out of the market Anywho...we dont see eye to eye, ill leave my comments at that
PPS
I think you will find the Aqua Nova is a rebranded Sunsun for an importer in Australia. You can not exchange NZD for Yuan as a business transaction. That is why why they quote in USD and we pay in USD exchanged from NZD. Also when they receive your USD and exchanged back to there yuan, they used to get an extra kickback for export from there govt. Yes, it is correct some subsidies have been removed used to be 8% for some products.
smidey
in a previous job i worked for a granite & marble company. alot of our product was imported from china. we would order tiles, kitchen & vanity benchtops & even all the parts for the britomart railway station & paedestrian crossing parts for the refurbishment of the streets around the railway station in Auckland. Once you find a good supplier of what ever you are after you were set. I found that the quality was effected by the value you wanted to pay. ie: If you wanted a teaspoon it would cost $1. If you wanted a teaspoon for 5c you could, you would just get 5c worth of quality. I have a sunsun tank, i have had it for around two years & cannot fault it at all. It is better IMO tha the aquaone AR980 that it is similar to & I would recommend them. Just make sure you are happy with the one you buy beforeyou hand over the $ as there are less quality tems out there.
