shadowfax
finally after months of waiting my new tank is ready to be set up, problem is i cant think of anything i really want to go in it? i must be losing the plot!! also i think the shape of the tank limits what i can have, its 102cm long, 45cm wide & 77cm high so as much as i like large catfish i dont think its good enough. im going to have a crack at planting it & it will be in front of 2 windows so light shouldnt be a problem, so a couple of bn's will be a must, anyone have any other bright ideas? Guest
Get some kribs and then you'll be able to watch them raise a family. I'm thinking of getting some. How are the blue platys going?
ryanjury
lol get africans you know you want to! My personal advice would be not to bother planting a tank that deep, it can look awesome! But it is a bloody nightmare to plant the plants and fix it up all the time, plus you have to have a heap of light to get to the bottom of the tank and get plants to grow there.. Guest
If I had a tank that big I'd plant it all up and do some rock work then put schools of little colourful fish and put a few rams or dwarf cichlids in. Thats my idea of a wicked tank.
ryanjury
Im sure if she came over here I could sell her on the african's idea But a tank that deep would look good as a discus tank, its just a pain to plant it out..

Guest
Go planted!! I'd do Dwarf Cichlids they rock.
Naz_Nomad
I reckon plant the tank up, but leave tons of swimming space. Add a school of something small and active - Harlequin Rasboras perhaps - and then something equally interesting to patrol the bottom strata. Corys are always nice and remain smallish. Keyhole Cichlids are also a good choice for the lower to middle strata of a tank and are full of personality. Smallish active fish with personality, lots of plant work. Makes a great tank to sit and watch.
