georgeous
Hey, My brother's female swordtail, who we assumed was quite pregnant last night, has lost her "roundness" but no babies in the breeding trap. The only thing in there, apart from the swordtail and java moss, is a fair bit fishy poo. The only way that I would have thought, for her to get so big, and then lose it in poo is-she got constipated. Any ideas?? Cheers
Caryl
Very possible she was constipated. Also possible is she had a small batch of fry and then ate them all. Easy pickings in a breeding trap.
georgeous
ok thanks, i hope we are talking about the same kind of breeding trap. The breeding trap we have /``\ <>< /``\ \ / \```````````/ \__________/ 8) If you can see how that works.... babies fall/swim through the layer of `s after being born in the top part 8) ok that didn't work... but if you kinda put a gap in between the first \ /, and try and line it all up
Caryl
Many of the traps are designed so the babies can drop through a V slot in the false bottom. It also means the fry can swim back UP into the main bit where mum eats them
