Caryl
OK lets go back to the beginning. How long has the tank been going since you cleaned it out? Remind us what size it is please. What filtration has it got and what fish are left? What tests have you been doing and what are the readings? What is the temp and pH sitting at now? Doc Holiday
Just a couple of questions: How long has the tank been running? how often do you do water changes and is the gravel being vacuumed when doing so? How often do you feed? :-?

Melanotaenia
also had my water tested today and everything is perfect , the best water test she,s done for ages she reckoned Scotty, we have to be scientists if we're gonna fix you tank... So what exactly are your ammonia (NH4) and Nitrate (NO3) readings...? I suggest you go and buy your own kits and test them yourself...the LFS in my area only do basic pH and ammonia tests....also water chemistry can be quite changed by being shaken alot and mixed with air in the car on the way to the shop. In my opinion when you did the big water change you upset the balance of your tank...so some toxin is building that was getting neutralised before...the most likely contender is Nitrogen so we have to rule that out first before we look at others... also what kind of substrate (soil) do you have? Do you have any plants?? what kind? Also did you examine the dead fish? were their eyes cloudy? did you notice anything else?? I'm sure we can solve your problems...we just need the right info.. kim
first off white spot cure is the best treatment for white spot/ itch. 2nd the fishes tummy is the size of its eye and from the sounds of it you are over feeding, also what brand of fish food are you feeding because fish are what they eat , if you buy your food from the supermarket you are not giving your fish what they need in their diet. have you sprayed any sprays round your tank?
