SparkyNat
Looking at getting one of these what type of tank setup is best? Was going to go 2/3 water 1/3 land with plants etc. What heat do they need to be kept at? Help with this would be great!
alanmin4304
I have 4 of them in a setup that is half water/ half gravel and the water is densely planted. I had a very small electric sponge filter discharging through a spray bar and a heater. Have since turned the heater off as I learned they don't like it hot. Am hoping they might breed next spring. Julie
water, cool and only as deep as the newt is long, land, a rock Babies don't seek food you need to place the white worm right at there noses. Adults- over a year old eat a mixture of foods, live and frozen. Very basic care, no filter for babies.

Julie
Got a breeder that has bred them for many years to have a look at mine, I only bought 2 of them a month or so ago, but they are 2 year olds.So might have 4 boys and 2 girls He thinks I might have 2 girls, but they are a bit thin. They eat like nothing on earth, knocking on the tank if I have not got to them yet. They are on display in the shop and most people think the are mex walking fish, even when I have a big sign with there name. So will wait till next year and see come breeding season.
