danilada
Alrighty, have a 320L tank, cycled it with a very mature fluval 204, added most fish from my 140L tank (so there wasn't alot) -also was given neons from my LFS. Added fish Saturday Sunday all looked fine and happy Monday- noticed that my black angel (also have a white one) appeared stressed and has what looks like white veins along its body, looks also as if its heavy breathing. Golden algae eater looks very pale. 3 neons have died. Tank was cycled properly and NO I do not have a test kit as im yet to buy one. I am pretty sure that the neons were the cause, but am not worried about that now, I am worried about my angel (one of my favourite fish in the tank) have had her/him for awhile and am quite attached. Any-one have any ideas what it is that he has? -white "vein like" lines appeared -heavy "breathing" -not very lifeless -loss of apetite. Please help!!!! and Merry Christmas all! MarkLB
Merry Christmas danilada. Sorry to hear about the sick fish. Sorry, I have no idea whats wrong. The only thing I can suggest , and I'm sure you've already done it, is a water change.

paul_r
maybe they got girl germs or someting sorry to hear about the loss.... not a very nice xmas pressie huh Was the tank new or second hand? did you give a good wash with salt or similar before useing? I had similar happen when i got my first killie tank. If it were me i would put angel in a hospital tank with a bit of sea salt.
ryanjury
Id say the problem wouldn't be with cycling if you basically added the same fish and filter form your smaller tank into a bigger tank.. unless you did something to kill off the bacteria, I would also say maybe the neon's are the cause of the problem, did they exhibit any symptoms before dying? I to would isolate the angel maybe give him a salt bath or something like that who knows form the symptoms I cant tell whats is going on.. Seems a bit sudden for it to be a disease if they only got added on Sat.. Oh and merry crhristmas hope your fish pulls through.
danilada
Lost a dozen neons, but no hard feelings there. Lost my clown loach this morning, he/she didn't have any signs of any-thing, kinda weird. Added salt to the tank, things seem ok this afternoon, fish still have the look of heavy breathing. Have put angel in hospital but I am diagnosing him with Swim Bladder Disease and that is exactly what he is doing. Will feed peas in the morning, but other than that, any one have any suggestions?? Cannot be a water issue either as all other 2 tanks have had the same water. Also Paul tank was Brand New and yip gave it a clean before hand with HOT water. paul_r
how much aeration does tank have? my tetras often have heavy breathing in my tank without an air line/air stone etc. But have never died, also from what i have ound heavy breathing seems to be related to stress (only what i have noticed) There could be a possibility that the neons had some kind of disease and its now affecting the others... it has been known to happen. Have you kept doing water changes?
