evilknieval69
Temp could be a couple degrees lower for guppys. not crucial though. Sounds like theres something wrong with the water. How long has the tank been setup? what size is it? what kind of filtration does it have? how often do you do water changes? If you 'might be but dunno' if you are over-feeding then yes you probably are. with 6 small fish, feed them a pinch of flake food daily. that is all they will need. Oh and get some test kits, or take a sample of your water to the pet shop to get tested.
Ianab
If in doubt, do a water change. If you have ammonia problems due to a new tank or overfeeding (or both) then changing out a decent percentage of the water will help. Guppys can handle temps from about 19 to 29, but around 25 is their 'ideal' temp. Cheers Ian
scott16
oh ok i think im overfeeding thanks for all the help
BlueMoon
Guppies have very little stomachs so they need to be fed tiny amounts a few times a day. I feed them 3 times a day, little bits at a time to make sure they eat it all. Water changes are really important especially when you are still figuring out exactly how much they can consume at a time. Don't worry you'll get the hang of it Enjoy them

So many people do this after losing fish... (replace them with others so soon).. but in many cases you are throwing money down the loo. Follow the advise you asked for... then give it a week or so until you are sure things are right... then just add a couple of fish at a time to gradually build your stock back up. For the price of three decent Guppies... you could buy a basic test kit... which will possibly last longer than the three Guppies you buy... if there is something seriously wrong with your water conditions. Patience is the biggest lesson to be learned in fishkeeping Bill.
