Slightly Blue Dalmation
at the moment i have a couple of pairs of dwarf cockatoos together in a 3ft tank and they fine, but wondering if there any other apistogramma or dwarf cichlid species that may be able to go in with them? ryanjury
If you already have a couple of pairs in there I would say no.. They can get pretty agro when breeding and if you ended up with 2 spawn's at either end of the tank it wouldn't leave much room for any other cichlids in a 3ft tank. sharn
IME they up and die for no reason. My four were all fine for the first month or so then would start heavy breathing and die within a few days. Treated for flukes and the like but nothing seemed to make much difference. Having said that though we have two standards at work that have been happy as larry for over 2 months so maybe its just certain shipments that are poor quality. He MIGHT breed the golds,he breeds alot of his other fish
sharn
I would say it probably is purely an imported fish thing. If the parents are healthy enough and able to live long enough to breed then they should give you relatively good offspring. Golds are more sensitive than blues as a general rule though
