Michelle.g
I have had my new 4ft tank set up for a few days now. Got some cycled media, so added some fish and plants two days ago. Fish are a couple of bristlenose, 5 apistos and 6 sterbai cories. I came home from work this afternoon and found some eggs on front glass. Had a closer look and there is lots of eggs on the underside of plant leaves too. They are in groups of 3-10 eggs. Whose eggs are they? Hopefully not snails! The eggs are around 1.5mm diameter and are white. I will try to put up a pic, but I haven't done this before so I'm sorry if it doesn't work. Bananalobster
Cant see the photos but i would take a stab at the cories. the other fish in your tank dont spawn in the open usually I dont think.
OscarBoy
I think its the corys to, what colour are the eggs?
MarkLB
I agree with Bananalobster and OscarBoy. My money is on the Corys. The BNs are cave spawners and I'm pretty sure Apistos are too.
Michelle.g
Yeah, I was thinking it was probably the cories. If I leave the eggs the bristlenose will probably find them and eat them right? How could I save them? I don't have a tank set up that I could put them into. Could I transfer some to a container within the tank?
OscarBoy
put a breeding box or something in the top of the tank with holes in it 2 keep water running through it and put the eggs in there

MarkLB
How could I transfer them? You could cut the leaves off and put them in the container. Maybe you could scrape the ones off the glass with a credit card and catch them in a net? Just guessing.

Caryl
Credit cards are good for scraping up cory eggs.
