smidey
Hi all, i have two clown loaches with my africans. One of them has got very skiny while the other has grown nicely. Are these fish prone to any parasite or something. At the moment it is in the fry tank & has been getting well feed for over a week now with no real improvement (thought he may have been missing out). here's a pic, you can see he has "rebates" behind his head where he has lost weight. This angle makes him look alot "fatter" than he is, i assure you he is skiny!
PETEYPLECO
What are your water conditions, as you say they are with your africans, do you have african type water conditions e.g high ph? I have seen clown loaches like this recently in a LFS I wont mention the name, but they were all skinny and sick looking. Are all the other fish okay? sharn
I was told all CL's are wild caught and with the huge stress of shipment half way across the world its no wonder they get their fair share of issues. It can take quite a bit of work to get those skinny ones that get sent to shops up to a nice standard. I'm not up on clowns but my guess would probably be worms or some sort of flagellite like Hex. I have seen clown loaches like this recently in a LFS I wont mention the name, but they were all skinny and sick looking. Are all the other fish okay? The tank has a PH of around 7.9. This loach has been with africans for over 6 months with no issues at all. All other fish have grown an inch in 6 weeks, they are doin well. I'm not up on clowns but my guess would probably be worms or some sort of flagellite like Hex. can anyone else confirm this or have any other suggestions?
