evilknieval69
Has anyone had experience with either of these air pumps? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 231133.htm and http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 597657.htm I want to know how noisy they are and how grunty they are. Its a bit hard to know without hearing one, and feeling the output. Im wanting an air pump that will comfortably run 10 or so airstones Cheers

evilknieval69
Hailea is usually pretty crappy i think. The Waikato aquarium soc had a large hailea air pump to use at the fish show, but it was way too noisy and they had to get another one. Trying to steer clear of them, but i dont think the two i linked would be much better..... Mind you, you should hear the amount of noise the air pumps in my room at the moment make. 3 medium sized pumps to power my killie tanks, brine shrimp hatcherys and water ageing barrel is not quiet, but i still sleep well I just need more air! Barrie
what ever you do, if you can make sure that the air can be controlled on the compressor. The compressor I have has no control and I have to "bleed" of the excess air. Its a curse and the end result is thats where most the noise comes from. I will change it at some stage in the future
