Interfecus
I thought my new lineatus killies were too young to reproduce but on turning the lights on this morning I saw the male nudging the largest female into the floating spawning mop in my tank. I just searched through the two mops (one floating, one sinking) and found 14 eggs about 1mm across, clear with a yellow tinge. I've put them in a jar floated in the tank where I'm currently raising a spawning of baby siamese fighters. The adults have been fed for the last couple of days on large brackish water mosquito larvae from Island Bay. If I collect more tomorrow then I might manage to raise 10 and get a breeding scheme point .
Interfecus
The largest female is about 4 to 5cm long including her tail and the male is about 3cm.
Alan
Way ta go Inter, put a small amount of Methylene Blue in with the eggs to stop any spread of fungus. Failure to do this will see you possible loose all your eggs if just one is infertile Alan
Caryl
Sounds good Inter. Keep us posted on progress!
Interfecus
I don't have any methylene blue . I added a commercial aquarium antiseptic though. I'll try to get hold of some ASAP.
