stargazer
back again with old problem my ammonia levels were creeping up to about 4ppm doing 50% water changes is keeping it about 2ppm. Before this happend I had a power failure for about a day and half, the water temp was down to about 60 deg f could this have killed off some bacteria? Tsarmina
i think it would have killed off most, not so much from temp, but from the fact that no water is flowing.
Ianab
Water changes are a good idea. Dont feed the fish for a couple of days, less bioload going into the tank means less ammonia. Some Ammolock or other water treatment may help in the short term as well. Cheers Ian
Caper
My filter was off in my goldfish tank the other day/night. I have no idea how long it was off but before I did water change I tested the ammonia & it was almost .25. and all that is in the tank (29 gallon) is 2 goldfish & 3 ottos.
