michael.qian
Hi all, bought a small clump of java fern from Hollywoods today. Tied it to my driftwood, which is in the center of the tank. Just was wondering if my light is too strong for it? I've heard they don't like strong lights. Tank is 50cm tall, about 30cm from the top of the fern to the light, light is 2X 18W Arcadia Bulbs, they were $42 each. Thanks alot.
Caryl
My Java grows equally well in dark places and right under the lights. In fact, it tends to grow up and out of the water where the exposed leaves get burned. Doesn't seem to worry it.
michael.qian
how long does it take for them to attach? Right now you can easily see the white sewing threads on the driftwood.

michael.qian
lol. no it's ok, it was enough hassle with the white cotton, took me quite a while, had to do it twice because first time I didn't tie it tight enough. Caryl
3 - 4 weeks ought to see them starting to attach. I don't tie them, I jam a few roots into splits in the wood.
