Help on a heater problem!!!

Hi guys, would you have a look at this? I noticed this last week and don't know what happened to it, it's a 200w jagar heater I bought a few weeks back from PetPlanet....the greenish thing is sandy like and there's no crack or moist on either inside or outside of heater glass...it seems to be functioning ok....it normally stays fully immersed horizontally and I only put it this way to take a photo of it.

Any ideas? Cheers :bounce:

Don't worry about it. I'd wager its algae, hence only growing in one direction. Personally I wouldn't worry about that at all, it will not have a noticable effect.

if you want to clean it off you can use a window scraper. I have a cheap one I got for $2 that I use on green spot algae (which is what I think that is). Remember to let the heater cool down before removing it from the water.
