pufferfishnz
yeah theres not many fish close by, let alone the fish you actually want. i hear you about over pricing in pet stores, still it would be nice to have one here to atleast look at! paul_r
do you know of any breeders close by? I know of 2 and they are both members of the NZKA if you pm me i can give you their contact details. Both have some really awesome fish. Maybe one day il be able to say i have a range of fish for sale, however have only got a whole bunch of killiefish eggs and the mollies are breeding at the moment, which by the way i could give you a few if you like, they are wild caught and dont have much colour, however are very interesting and full of character. Could be used to get the tank cycled ready for other fish or something

CatId=1027 Pair of Blue Rams - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod ... CatId=1084 i'd personally stay away from the dwarf gourami, as they are known disease carriers Perhaps as a larger fish have Boesmani Rainbows - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod ... CatId=1053 Tetra tanks look very cool with heaps of fish darting around.
David R
I dont want to be stuck to just 1 breed of fish (so unfortunately that rules out malawis, even though they are pretty) What about a Tanganyikan community? You could have fish like Neolamprologus brichardi, N. leilupi, N. sexfasciatus, Tropheus, etc, giving you more variety than a malawi tank that might just look like the same fish with different paint jobs. When I had mine set up I had them (and some electric yellows and clown loaches) with java fern and they didn't seem to bother it.
