Fixing a big crack

Can i repatch a split along the back wall of a tank without replacing the whole pane of glass? i dont mind if it looks dodgy, i just dont wanna chuck it out.

and use it for a grow out tank or for turtles or something?

Short answer is yes.

I have several like that.

Clear of the glue at the back and floor of the tank joint.

Cut a piece of glass about 150mm either side of the damage.

Smallest would be 300mm wide, widening out more as the angle of the damage increases.

Make sure that the patch and back pane are clean, and ample glue to all sides of the patch and a run of glue down the crack.

Force together, exclude as much air as possible.

Cove glue on the side of the patch and the base.

Leave to set and fill..

Can look real crap but can be disguised with plants or driftwood.
