michael.qian
Hi Was wondering how would I go about feeding frozen bloodworms to my 3 clown loaches I got yesterday, they are like chocoloate and was told 1 everytime, 2-3 times a week. Do I need to thaw them first? Or can I just drop the cube straight into my tank? Also, most importantly, how do I make sure the clown loaches get their share, other fish will probably eat it as well, and there are LOTS of other fishes, 20 neon tetras, 16 white clouds, 5 lepoard danios, 6 swordtails. Cheers

smidey
i just slightly overfeed my community tank, the clowns will clean up what ever is left on the bottom after they have finished chasing the food around the tank.
markoshark
Try handfeeding your fish, its a more rewarding experience (my discus attack my hands whenever i pt my hands into the tank, and they can also be petted. I however don't endorse hand feeding 2' long Arowanas. or big oscars.
michael.qian
Just dropped in a cube, but sadly only 1 of them (maybe 2, can't tell if it's the same one) got some to eat, the majority of it was eaten by my other fish. Next time I'll cut the cube into two pieces, drop one in the front and one in the back and see how it goes.

reef
just drop it in frozen best to rinse as bloodworm contains very high PO4, Less nutrients is better.
sharn
Ive always rinsed mine too- the juice that comes off them doesnt smell very nice at all, cant say id want that in my tank
michael.qian
When you rinse them, they will unfreeze, after rinsing them they will have tap water still on them and when I put that in my tank there will be a little chlorine in the water on the bloodworms. I've read that clown loaches are especially sensitive to chlorine. Or am I paranoid? The little bit of chlorine won't do any harm, will be the amount of chlorine in a droplet of water. davidb
should be fine as the chlorine would instantly be diluted when you put it into your tank.
michael.qian
I've noticed the smell to it's definitely not very nice, hope it didn't polute my water. Next time will rinse them, try to get as much water off them as possibe, feeding will be easier as well they won't drop in as just one cube, I can drop them in several places and they will sink instantly, the cube tend to flow with the current in my tank.
