gills
Do I really have to have a solenoid or can I just turn the cylinder valve off at night? Could I leave it on and have a timer on my air pump?
Freakyfish
I would use a Solenoid valve just for the ease of use That way you always know its turned off at night and you can use the timer on your lights Also your plants will do better with regular light times I first tried to remember to turn it off at night but forgot a few times I was lucky and didnt lose any fish but now I know its all good Brad
SpidersWeb
Air pump driving off the CO2 does work, but you waste your CO2. You'd get 3 times the life of a CO2 bottle (8 hours vs 24 hours) by adding a solenoid (150$ish) off the timer your lights are on.
