stargazer
to lower my ph level I put in some driftwood, I wanted to add some peat to the filter as well. The lady at the lfs said not to with activated charcoal in filter, but she couldn't say why you shouldn't. Can anyone answer this for me please? Wok
Take the carbon out You only need it to get meds out. None of my tanks use carbon anymore
sharn
Perhaps she thought the carbon would remove the effectiveness of the peat (i dont think it does but i can see why she would think that). Either way, like Wok said, i would remove the carbon. That space is much better used for bio media or mechanical filtration IMO
