xmamx
Just a quick question, i live in wellington and the water seems to have a PH of 7.1 or so. My tanks PH is sitting around 6 from what my simple bottle test seems to advise. Therefore when doing a water change of 30% say would it cause a noticeable PH shift in the tank?. The reason i ask is everywhere i read about CO2 injection dropping the PH even lower and causing PH shifts in the tank which is apparently bad for the fish, so are the PH shifts generally more varied than what a water change PH shift would be. Cheers, Xmamx
Caryl
I got a pH shift on my African tank. It sat about 7.4 - 7.6 but a water change would drop it to 7.0. Never seemed to bother the fish, despite us always saying you shouldn't play with the pH cos swings cause more trouble than a pH that is too high or too low :-? I would think if you did the water changes regularly it would not go so low as 6 so any change would not be so large
