Mel1708
Hi! On the weekend I bought this Dwarf Cichlid from the LFS. He was sold to me as Apistogramma Agassizi? Is this correct? I googled the name and the pictures that came up were different but I wondered if this is another colour variation? I would like to find him a female as his other half did not make it to sale according to the LFS Also I would like to know if anyone has seen any Apistogramma Trifasciata for sale or knows who might have some? My lonely young male is looking for a lady friend also Thanks for your help, Mel
evilknieval69
I arent realy an apisto specialist, but it does look like an agassizi. I know that shane in hamilton (username HandS) had some trifasciata when i was at his house last
antwan
Yep, top pic agassizii, bottom is trifasciata.
caserole
Yep, your agassizi is the double red colour form - a very nice one at that. Hands is your best bet for trifasciata at present.
Mel1708
Ok thanks for clearing that up for me Might focus on finding Agassizi a mate first then. So should I be looking for a "double red" female too? Or would any colour form be suitable? Thanks, Mel
caserole
Yes you should look for a double red female if you want the off spring to look like there dad, however you may have to take what you can find. If that's the case choose the most colourful female.
HummingBird
Which LFS did you buy him from Mel? He looks just like an agassizi I had years ago (not suggesting that they're the same fish or anything, it's just cool.) If you manage to get a mate and some babies I'd definitely be interested in getting a few off you
Mel1708
Ok then I will keep a lookout for a nice female then I got him from HFF Mt. Roskill, you can have first dibs on any offspring for sure Hummingbird! Mel
