Damaged Fin

Hi guys, my Beautiful Blue Ram seems to have damaged his fin. I dont think anyone in the tank would have done it unless it was my golden Zebra loach? or could the female (who is ready to spawn) have had enough of his pestering. Will this heal alone?

Hey fishtv, I'd only be guessing who done it??? I'd say you'd be right with the female as the offender if their looking like they are gonna breed  I would'nt worry, fins normally heal very well. A water change never hurts with bit of stress coat or something similar :D

If hes feeding well he will heal.

But if you wanna do a little extra -

If you have any White Spot Cure, or something simillar, put a couple of drops directly on the damaged area.

Or Melifix in the aquarium will help.

I wouldnt go putting any meds on the wound directly at present if theres no signs of issues personally. Rams normally arent too fond of meds so clean water and a little melafix if you want (probably not needed tho) should do the trick. Im sure he will surprise you with his healing abilities

Thanks guys,

Yea I thought the same, have done a 20% water change and tested water which is really good. He is still a hungry boy so I think he should be fine. Its not bothering him at all just his worried mum hehe. They are getting pretty snappy at the mo and the female has coloured up really well so u never know!

Thanks again! :hail:

ok so the males fin has improved alot but now looks to have a small nick out of his tail? The female is out and about a lot but the male is hiding low in the tank in the plants? I chased him out and he looks fine to me? Is he ok?
