On this website below.I designed it using Google Sketchup http://www.saxsenasanjay.kwikphp.com/ This URL is no longer working. If you interested in looking at my Tank Stand. PM or reply to this post and I'll either emal or put the picture on my personal site. Its a great stand and design. Its T - shaped Design. Good and Strong for big tanks at the same time neat and elegant looking for sitting room.
Ianab
Look good Setting up the uprights with that 'T' section should be plenty strong enough and makes the stand seem a lot less 'chunky'. I like the solid wood better than the laminated MDF thats usually used too I've built a couple of stands myself, and will need to construct another for the big tank I'm planning on getting soon. So a few ideas are allways good. I start a bit further back in the DIY process though, have to saw down the tree first  Cheers Ian
smidey
hi there, judging by the pics you have done a good job. it looks great. how many litres is the tank & is it going on top? I am a cabinet maker am am a little concerned it may not have enough side ways bracing. by the look of your tank im guessing its about 200L, maybe you could test it by getting 3 or 4 adults sitting on the cab before filling your tank. this is only a guess from the pics so may be well off the mark but i would rather suggest something than have it turn bad. Saxsena
The tank is already on top with water fish and everything. It looks and feels quite stable.
