new2discus
Hi there, I have a 4 x 2 x 2 ft (430lt) tank that i'm slowly setting up to hold discus, so far i have 2 x Fluval 404 filters lights tank and a piece of bogwood I would like to have it as a planted tank, any thoughts on the best substrate to accomodate this ie gravel, coarse, fine, colour etc? Any other info is much appreciated Thanks 8)
Rockerpeller
It depends on how much you are willing to spend. You can either get the proper plant substrate from a LFS. Or you can use an aquatic plant mix like Daltons which a few people on here already use, which is way cheaper. After that you can use gravel like brightwater which is the really dark small gravel (1-4mm size) or propagating sand. Check out the Aquatic plants section for more info.
