all the above will do Chris, use between 6 and 7 water.

Parents can be predators tho

Thanks Alan, will have to go out and buy some test kits. Those killies you posted are very pretty .. hopefully the bug won't catch when I get my first trio .. Once I join up to the NZKA and show interest *hopefully* I might be able to get the Auckland breeders details..

Oh Alan, where do you get you're pure ammonia from?

The scheeli are good to start with Chris. If I can breed them anyone can

Did you feed them live food or did they do it by luck :D?

Thanks,

Chris

You can't get PURE ammonia Chris, It's too dangerous.

It just have to be the uncontaminated toilet variety.

Check at your local chemist, tell them what it's for,

keep in a well labelled bottle and in a SAFE place.

I aquired mine from a local industrial site down this way.

Talk about bumping your post count :)

Seven replies within two minutes for one question, then a double post.

What's the story Alan .. can't find the "edit" button...:)

It's just I have a higher post count, but he's been here for 1 year longer so he wants to beat me :P

Chris - you can just get bottles of ammonia from the supermarket. Some people still use it in cleaning stuff. Are you using it to do a fishless cycle or something?

yes I was going to but Caryl suggested doing something like this:

Buy a sponge filter and place it in a established tank. Then after *so many days/weeks* take it out, and place it in the new tank with 50% water from the established tank and 50% new water. Then add the fish.

What do you guys feel about this?

Any help is appreciated.
