Advice needed for fry

nymph in terms of goldfish basically means deformed or undesirable.

some ppl think lion head/ryukin is just oranda with out an dorsal fin which is not really the case. years of selective breeding has been done to get these fish they way they are and even though they're all the same in terms of specie, they're two very different variety. of cause if ur planning to create ur own "variety" then this is where u will start.

its like breeding an yellow cobra guppy with an sold red guppy and expect to get red cobra guppy with some of both which just doesn't happen, instead ur probably get all wild types or very weird mix.

does that make sence :-?

Thanks fishboi.

Couldn't make any sense out of the term "nymph" in the context of breeding goldfish. So all these "nymphs" on TM are deformed fish that the breeders cannot sell to the petshops? I always wondered why there are so many for sale and what it actually meant.

The person "orandafan" seems to sell lots of them on TM and getting good feedback too.

unless u've breed goldfish and know what ur looking for it takes time before u notice the deformity. most pet shops only really buy from trust worthy breeders and only 3cm+ fish.

unfortunately some pet shops do buy and sell nymphs.

Thanks for explaining that fishboi :D

Do you think i will need both a filter and bubbles for oxygen or will the filter be enough?

Cheers sub.z

not a prob.

depends on what the size tank/pond ur talkin about. if it has large open top than oxygen shouldn't be a problem so either will be fine. let just say adding a air pump certainly doesn't hurt and if u have one laying around handy i would use it.
